Rigzin's main training is in the meditation practices of Vajrayana (Tibetan) Buddhism. She has studied and practiced now for over 25 years. Completing a traditional three year retreat in 1993, and many other retreats over the years. Marrying her teachers son, soon after giving birth to her son ,a recognized reincarnation. They traveled extensively on pilgrimages throughout India, Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet, visiting many holy sites and monestaraies affiliated with the lineage and family. Rigzin was trained intensively to sing the traditional songs (prayers) of elaborate ceremonies.
After surviving cancer, and leaving the marriage, she returned to her roots as an artist. Falling in with the avant guard artist collective, "El Circo", she began to perform in shows. Her friends would come to visit her on her rural retreat land on the coast in Northern California, and would hear her sing her prayers in the early morning hours. Inspired by the peace it invoked, they asked her to record. Random Rab then created the first tracks, and the response was overwhelming.
Now working on her first CD, we will see what happens next...
