MICHAEL MANNING

MICHAEL MANNING is a singer/songwriter native to Johnson City, TN. He is an alumnus from East Tennessee State University and is currently pursuing a graduate degree. He is married and has as son, Adam. His musical influences and styles are varied, as are his abilities within the art of songwriting and performing. He is credited with over 30 songs both within the country and hard rock genres. Michael began playing guitar at the age of 8 years old and began songwriting around the age of 13. He cut his teeth on country music standards such as Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash, as well as the chart toppers of the time, Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Clint Black and many others. Throughout his teen years Michael’s musical taste and talent began to broaden, he constructed his first band, a hard rock ensemble called FREE GRACE, which was heavily influenced by the grunge rock movement of the 1990’s. Since then, Michael has been an active musician performing as a solo artist and fronting several local bands, currently AUTOMATIC HERO, while consistently exercising his first love…songwriting.
