About Natalie Mejia
Natalie Mejia was born on May 7, 1988 in the city of West Covina, California. She later moved to Diamond Bar and attended Diamond Ranch High School, which she graduated from in 2006. Natalie was also home schooled, accumulating enough credits for her degree by the age of 16.Natalie Mejia is an accomplished dancer. She studied dance since the age of nine at Millennium Dance Complex, which is a professional dance center catering to the artistic community of the greater Los Angeles area. She was instructed by such big names as Shane Sparks, Wade Robson, and Kennis Marquis, and studied everything from Hip Hop to Jazz to Lyrical.In 2008, Natalie decided to try out for Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious. Her goal was to become just as successful as her musical idols, Jennifer Lopez and Janet Jackson. Natalie immediately stood out from the pack thanks to her great dance skills and natural sex appeal.In the season finale, Natalie was chosen as one of the four members of Girlicious.“The whole experience has been kind of like ‘The Twilight Zone,’ it’s been crazy,” explains Natalie, 19, a native of Diamond Bar, CA, a small city about 30 miles east of Los Angeles. She’s sitting on a couch in a posh Santa Monica, CA, studio and rehearsal space across the street from their new label, Geffen Records. It’s where Girlicious have spent practically every moment of their waking lives since the show finished taping in July ’07. In the months that followed, the girls were kept, literally, under lock and key. Only their parents knew they won, and some of their friends didn’t even know they were on the show until it started airing the following February. “One day I was this girl doing my own thing, having a boyfriend, doing whatever I wanted during the day, taking my dance classes, and then I go to this audition and I’m plucked out of my life like I was in ‘The Bourne Identity” and my name didn’t exist anymore. It sounds obvious to say, but my whole life has changed so much…”Natalie has been singing and dancing since the age of 3. She has been trained in, Modern dance, jazz and Hip Hop. Throughout her school years she has always been a key participant in choir and dance competition. Having come from a musical family Natalie has always had a passion for singing and dancing. Natalie spends most of her time writing lyrics, singing, and creating new choreography. She has performed in numerous music videos as a dancer and choreographer with both local and established artist such as Missy Elliot, 50 cent and Reggatone artist R. Luna. Natalie was a featured dancer for the recent west coast syndicated television show THE DROP. Natalie has an amazing ability and tenacity when it comes to choreography. Natalie has worked extremely hard in perfecting her craft. From a very early age her dream has been to have a singing group and tour the world.
