Telescope

About Me

Telescope came into being one day.

Here- play on this, Van said. So I did. And what I played played itself again. Van had gotten his hands on a digital repeater... Our musical lives changed that day.

Van found himself at the controls of a magic box consisting of said repeater and a number of delays, other effects and percussion machines. I found myself in a duet with a person playing all of the electronics like a musical instrument.

Even though I am the source of the sounds- the melody, harmony and even much of the rhythm, the live processing and orchestration that he does to my sound gives me the experience of playing with an entire orchestra- under my intimate and telepathic control.

And it's all made up on the spot. We're entirely improvising.

Give it a listen. Two and half years later, we're producing some remarkable music.
