Robotica Records was started in September 2005 to help local Boston bands manufacture, market, and sell their music. With a lot of help from their friends, Robotica launched their first release, a split 7" vinyl featuring friends Therefore I Am and Vanna (Epitaph) in March 2006. Knowing that they were on to something good, Robotica went on to sign some bands of their own and started doing the whole "indie label thing." Pressing buttons on the living room floor, assembling CDs at 3 in the morning, and hitting "add to friends" on every myspace account they encountered. Robotica's hard work is not going unnoticed though. Their unique bands coupled with a female-only staff have helped make Robotica a recognizable name in the independent music world.
