About Me

I grew up in the north of England, were most of the best live bands come from :) The Beatles, Oasis, Arctic Monkeys etc. etc. As a child i lived all over the world, Italy, Cyprus, India, Hong Kong, as my father was in the Airforce. Which made settling in the City Hull, East Yorkshire, a bit drab. So a couple of years ago, decided to visit some family in Hong Kong. I ended up staying there for two years, but without a work permit the money soon ran out. I have now settled in London, which is such a diverse and vibrant place. I hope to draw on this & my life experiences when writing.
The first music i remember is from my parents who listened to the likes of Frank Sinatra, Roy Orbison, Elvis, and the Beatles. I grew up thru many genres of music from early break dance/ hip hop, 80's thru to the UK rave scene, house, jungle, drum 'n' bass, and bands like the Happy Mondays, Oasis and Paul Weller, Massive Attack and Portis Head who have all been a big influence on me. I also listen to a lot of reggae & soul like Donny Hathaway, Johnny Guitar Watson & Norma Fraser. At the moment i'm really into the Gorrilaz.I really like their sound. I'm also into The Streets. Mike Skinners lyrics are really easy to relate to. So, i guessmy music will have a wide and varied sound. I must admit, some of the best times of my life were during theUK rave scene. From about 1989 to 1994 i met so many wierd and "colourful" people, and went to more raves, clubs & parties than i can remember. Anyway, it's 2006, the parties have finished, and it's time to make a career ;)
Currently i only have a Roland Keyboard, 2 acoustic guitars and a Rode NT1 mic! I'm running Logic & Reason on an iMac, with Ableton Live 5, Cubase SX, Fl Studio 5 on a PC.These are all going through an E-MAgic 2|6 audio interface. It's not the best in the world, but i've had to begborrow & steal to get this far ;)
MAX ;)
