Rabbi Sawyer

Well it's about time that I finally got on myspace!!! Anyways, I just moved to Florida last January 2005 from Virginia Beach to intern with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. It was a dream come true for me to be able to go a stadium everyday and call it "work." For all you Seinfeld fans, my office overlooked the outfield, just like George Castanza!!! Since I have been in Florida, I have lived in 3 cities: Madeira Beach, St. Pete, and Tampa. I can officially say St. Petersburg is my official "home away from home." When I came out to Florida, I packed everything I owned in the back seat/trunk of my car and that's it! I thought I was going to go back home after the internship, but one thing led to another...and a year and a half later, I'm still here! For the last year I have been working for a nonprofit organization called Best Buddies. I ran an adult friendship program for people with intellectual disabilities, like downs syndrome and autism. Working for them had to be one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The one thing I learned from Best Buddies is that people with disabilities are no different than me or you, they just have different needs in life, just like all of us!!!! Just recently I was offered a job as an Event Coordintor with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays....my childhood dream has come true!!!!! It was extremely hard leaving Best Buddies, but getting a job with a Major League Baseball team has been a lifelong dream of mine, so I know I'm ready for this new opportunity in my life. Well I don't really know what else to say right now, so hopefully I'll write some more soon!!!!!
