Islam is the message that Allah subhana wa ta'ala sent to all mankind through His Prophets. The Message of Islam has always been to worship Allah Ta'ala alone without associating any partners with Him and to follow the Messengers that He, the most High, sent to mankind. The Last and final Messenger was Muhammad SalaAllahu alayhi wa Salam and it is his example and guidance that Muslims must seek to emulate and act upon. Islam is perfect, and there is no need for it to ever be changed.
Advancement for mankind is through the pure Islam.Islam is one, the fundamentals of Islam should be based upon the true sources of Islam, The Quran and the Sunnah (way of the Prophet). If these are follwed, then the Muslim's life will be the one full of light, understanding, compassion and ease.

Poisons of the heart
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 8.26
Narrated by Abu Huraira
Allah's Apostle kissed Al-Hasan bin Ali while Al-Aqra' bin Habis At-Tamim was sitting
beside him. Al-Aqra said, "I have ten children and I have never kissed anyone of them."
Allah's Apostle cast a look at him and said, "Whoever is not merciful to others will not be
treated mercifully."
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 9.320
Narrated by Ubada bin As Samit
Allah's Apostle said to us while we were in a gathering, "Give me the oath (Pledge of
allegiance) for: (1) Not to join anything in worship along with Allah, (2) Not to steal, (3)
Not to commit illegal sexual intercourse, (4) Not to kill your children, (5) Not to accuse
an innocent person (to spread such an accusation among people), (6) Not to be
disobedient (when ordered) to do good deeds. The Prophet added: Whoever amongst you
fulfill his pledge, his reward will be with Allah, and whoever commits any of those sins and
receives the legal punishment in this world for that sin, then that punishment will be an
expiation for that sin, and whoever commits any of those sins and Allah does not expose
him, then it is up to Allah if He wishes He will punish him or if He wishes, He will forgive
him." So we gave the Pledge for that. (See Hadith No. 17, Vol. 1)
Sahih Al-Bukhari353.
Translated by: Ustadha Aisha BewleyAbu
Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Anyone who does not show mercy to our children nor acknowledge the right of our old people is not one of us."
256. There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right (Path of) Guidance has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

The Sunnah is Islaam and Islaam is the Sunnah
Imaam al-Barbahaari (rahimahullaah) said:
All praise is for Allaah who guided us to Islaam and blessed us with it and placed us in the best nation, so we ask Him to grant us that we keep to that which He loves and is pleased with and avoid that which He hates and which angers Him.
Know that Islam is the Sunnah, and the Sunnah is Islaam[1] and one of them cannot be established without the other.
NOTES
1. The Prophet said, "He who turns away from my Sunnah is not from me." Reported by al-Bukhaaree (Eng. trans. 7/1-2/no.l), Muslim (Eng. Trans. 2/703/n0.3236) and an-Nasaa'ee.
Abu Hurairah said that Allaah's Messenger said, "All of my Ummah will enter Paradise except those who refuse." It was said, "Who will refuse?" He replied. "Whoever obeys me enters Paradise and whoever disobeys me has refused." Reported by al-Bukhaaree (Eng. trans. 9/284/n0.384).
Imaam az-Zuhree (the famous taabi'ee, d.124H) said,"The people of knowledge who came before us used to say,'Salvation lies in clinging to the Sunnah.'" Reported by ad-Daarimee in his Sunan (no.96).
Imaam Maalik said,"The Sunnah is like the Ark of Noah. Whoever embarks upon it reaches salvation and whoever refuses is drowned." Quoted by Shaikh ul-Islaam Ibn Taimiyyah in Majmoo' ul-fataawaa (4/57).

Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allâh only. And those who take Auliyâ' (protectors and helpers) besides Him (say): "We worship them only that they may bring us near to Allâh." Verily, Allâh will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Truly, Allâh guides not him who is a liar, and a disbeliever.(Quran 39:3)

And they worship besides Allah things that hurt them not, nor profit them, and they say: "These are our intercessors with Allah." Say: "Do you inform Allah of that which He knows not in the heavens and on the earth?" Glorified and Exalted be He above all that which they associate as partners with Him!(Quran 10:18)

Those whom they call upon [like Jesus  son of Mary, Ezra, angels, etc.] desire (for themselves) means of access to their Lord (Allah), as to which of them should be the nearest and they [Jesus, 'Uzair (Ezra), angels, etc.] hope for His Mercy and fear His Torment. Verily, the Torment of your Lord is something to be afraid of!(Quran 17:57)
