Asphodel Films

I'm an independent filmmaker and Asphodel Films is my production company that I established in 2000. My aim is to create exciting creative works with a focus on innovation, collaboration, flexibility and lateral thinking. As such, I am always looking to meet focussed, passionate collaborators working with the visual medium. All the works are quite different but I guess I love exploring the darker side of life and the beauty that lies within the shadows.Asphodel Films has made numerous short films, music videos (for artists such as Wendy Rule, Monique Brumby and Beki and the Bullets) and the low-budget feature film, MAX: A Cautionary Tale (check out the trailer above!). In 2006 I teamed up with writer Rachel Bowen and producer Rita Walsh for the short film Hollow Bones which was followed by the dark faerie tale, Hugo. I'm currently working on a new internet serial with Lally Katz called The Apocalypse Bear. Check out the link to episode 2 below!I'm currently developing a new feature film, The 24 Hour Window, with my co-writer, Gareth Wills, and producer, Ann Darrouzet.In 2009 I will be heading to Berlin for the Berlinale Talent Campus and then onto Amsterdam for the Binger FilmLab to further develop The 24 Hour Window.

So I started DJing as a joke but whatdya know, I got the bug. I love all sorts of music and love to throw it all in the mix creating a wild dirty electro disco storm. From M.I.A. to Michael Jackson. Pat Benatar to Peggy Lee. Gwen Stefani to Goldfrapp. Bonde Do Role to Bo Diddley.Currently I DJ every Friday night at the Perseverance on Brunswick St for That 90's Night (or I Heart 90's). So if you want to bring it all back to a time when Ian Ziering was a stud, Laura Leighton was chief bitch and girls wore skirts over their pants and bindis just like Gwen Stefani - head to the Pers! 10 til 3.
