In several different organisations he has titles in the following,
Titles include: Forms (Kata) , Full Contact Kumite (Sparring), Point Fighting and All Styles Contact Fighting from the years 1997 to 2007.
Carl was nominated for the "Blitz Hall Of Fame" Junior Fighter of the year in 1997,
In the same year he competed in the World All Styles Organization and was placed 3rd for Kumite.
He has studied Judo, Taekwondo, Boxing, Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts but his love and passion has always been Traditional Karate. He has travelled to Asia and and has trained in Europe.
Carl has trained with the Army, graded highly in Shotokan Karate and has been taught various Martial Arts by Australian, Japanese and European Intsructors.
In 1998 he moved to Full Contact Karate, Carl taught Karate for seven years and graded many students, Martial Artist's, Queensland and Australian Champions. Carl either knows.. or has trained with most of the elite fighters in Australia, including MMA fighters, Boxers, Kyokushin Karateka's, Kempo Karateka's and Kickboxers.
In 2004 due to injury, Carl retired from sponsered competition fighting, he returned in 2005 and reclaimed his Australian Kempo Ryu Contact Title in Sydney he had not been beaten.
Since then he had not competed.
Carl again came out of retirement and fought in 2007 having 5 fights, he remains undefeated in that specific tournament.
He currently trains up to five times per week.
