hi i am jesi. i write. i play. i sing. (a.k.a. i live in nashville:) i have existed magically in a songwriters dreamworld since i was a baby (so saith my mother) but i officially began my musical journey at the age of seven (thank you mrs. hickfang...first piano teacher.) in high school i wrote and recorded two full length albums under the monicer "waiting for iris" during which time i had the privilege of writing with and opening for some very wonderful national recording artists. (to check out more from "waiting for iris" you can still visit me at www.waitingforiris.com. i will say hello :)i am currently in the very exciting process of recording my first solo record. yay! thanks to my prolific (day) job serving lattes, i met mr. bones hillman (bassist for the iconic australian rock group, midnight oil) who's vision has provided me the support of some very talented music men, including mr. steve bowman (long-time drummer for one of my favorites bands, the counting crows) and legendary australian producer/guitarist, mr. mark moffat. i am so incredibly thrilled and honored to be working with such a fantastic team!!!i will be booking more shows again soon... in the meantime, i am finally learning to embrace my quirks as i transition from 'band' to 'solo artist.' this process of reinventing oneself (ahem, taking hold of the future without disregarding the past) while both fun and scary, is also forcing me to be completely vulnerable, and who doesn't love that?!?! my songs are simply a reflection of this process. and they are reinventing themselves as well. new and refreshing recordings on the way...i promise!-jesi
