KING BAI is a DJ from Gambia who is specialize in Dancehall Reggae.He has been in the biz for more than a decade.With his experience in the biz,he has proved that he is a DJ to reckoned with in any arena. He started DJing with the Roots Foundation Sound System in 1995 which featured the talents like Ganjaman, President Hammer and Dawda Sarr. In this early phase of his career he was fortunate enough to meet Kingman a Jamaican promoter, which turned into a pivotal moment as he then toured Germany playing in Café Cuba (Essen), Fish Night Club (Hanover) and Sky Night Club (Hamburg) with legends like Daddy Freddy,Michael Prophet just to mention a few. The experience in Germany and the positive reaction of the crowd gave him the energy to create KING BAI SOUND .A promotional company called Voice of Respect Promotions soon recognised the blazing talent and booked them to play with sounds like Killer Sound, Inspector Chow, Pow Pow Movement, David Radigan, Chris Goldfinger, Exodus Sound, Top Rankin Sound etc. More bookings followed in cities all over Europe, peaking in 2004 when he played an after show party at the Summer Jam in Köln,Germany (Europe..s biggest reggae dancehall festival) with MC Raab, MC Diamond which became a yearly thing.Ebaling him to invite other sounds like King Ralph and Stone Circle Sound. Since 2003 he has been returning to The Gambia with the Outta Germany Crew to promote the Tobaski Tour, the biggest regaae dancehall tour in that part of Africa in which the following are featured King Bai sound, MC Diamond, Stone Circle Sound, King Ralph,Mystic MC and top rated Gambian artists. KING BAI now lives in Germany and is proud to have a sound system that is popular and ‘running tings’ in Europe and Africa.Summer Jam 2008 in Cologne, Germany is the mecca of reggae fans worldwide especially Gambians.Because they form about 60 % of the black people in it.The 23rd summer jam festival was history in the making.As Gambians who have been anticipating to see Gambian artists on the programme where amaze to see Rebellion the recaller and King Bai on the official line up of the biggest reggae festival in Europe.Rebellion is no doubt one of the biggest export of Gambian music presently.His long awaited album .. moving on.. was recieved in the reggae world with bravo.He gave a very impressive performances on Friday representing the smiling coast of West Africa with positive vibes and messages.King Bai sound is one of the top sounds in Germany.Because of his professionality and the taste for good vibes over the years, he was booked at the Root tent where he played on Friday,Saturday and Sunday alongside many other soundsystem.On Saturday, he invited his friend and partner King Ralph with whom he organised the tobaski tour in the Gambia, to join him.These two youths harmonize together and represent The Gambia to the fullest leaving thousands of reggae fans in a frenzy.Because of the wonderful performance, King Bai was asked to closed the summer Jam.Together with King Ralph, they bring the 23rd Summer jam festival to an end in a grand style showing that they are a force to reckoned with and leaving a smile in every Gambians face saying ..yes we can...
