From Deph D:I remember getting into rap when I was a kid. I was about 10 years old when I first discovered rap. Beat Street by Grandmaster Mele Mel was the first rap song that blew me away. I listened to it non stop and soon had the entire seven minute song memorized. Shortly after that, I began to expand my collection: Run DMC, The Fat Boys, The Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, and so on. I fell in love with this music and I will always love it. That is the rap that I enjoy-- and I miss it. Do you remember those days fondly as I do? Or, maybe you're not old enough to remember, but that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy it. I would like to invite you all to join me in the “Oldcore†movement.
Let's never forget where rap came from and what it was all about. Be aware of the history and celebrate Rap. Celebrate Hip Hop. Celebrate Life. Enjoy the music!Old school meets the new on Deph D's first solo project, "Go Back." Deph D has been a member of The Kingpinz for 15 years, and been rapping since the age of 12.
