ToyShop - 'Million Miles' (David Sun remix)
One peak time monster. For me this is the side I'll play in a club www.xpander.nl
David Sun offers up a more driving mix weaving in and out of Kelsey's emotive vocal. ***** TOP TUNE IDJ Magazine
Best mix in the package though is the David Sun excursion. Starting off with a breakbeat and spooky keys, the 4/4 kick takes over for a driving, groovy trip... the vocal finally working wonders within this new context and smart arrangement. Five Dancing Men Update
ToyShop - 'Million Miles' (Original ToyShop mix)
Lush live strings are added, giving the track a sundrenched Balearic sound, before a housy bassline comes in. This really is uplifting and would make a perfect last track of the night. ***** SURE PLAYER DJ Magazine
Bluefish - 'Been Too Long'
Last, and by no means least. 'David Sun' is on hand with a cool house mix. Led by a subtle sub bassline this mix fuses laid back lounge grooves with progressive style beats and hooks, and all in all is an impressive after hours style mix which not only holds it's own against the other mixes on offer, but brings something unique to the package overall, and is the perfect conclusion to this excellent release. www.ProgressiveSounds.com

David Sun, Jack & Master & ToyShop are a couple of pseudonyms I've worked under on dance projects. the uncanny ability to count to 4 has, amongst other things, been this errant mathematician's saving grace - spurring me on to produce friends & colleagues in the dance arena - Alison Limerick, Angie Brown, Ron Carroll, Robert Owens, Shena & Anita Kelsey. some additional dance credits include Fedde Le Grande, Hardsoul, Airwave, Bluefish, Signum, TTLC and numerous/various others.
as a session player I've worked alongside artists such as Chaka Khan, Anastacia, Alexander O'Neal, Gabrielle, Imogen Heap, Alison Limerick, Heatwave, Imagination, Russell Watson, Psapp etc & have had the BEST time travelling the globe in the process!
in the studio my production, instrumental, remixing & orchestration work has seen projects taking in Burt Bacharach, Jorgen Elofsson, Salif Keita, Deon Estus, Mort Schuman, Billie Myers and Willy Russell - from solo guitar backing to full symphony orchestra with 80 piece choir. multi-media credits include British TV documentaries such as BBC's 'Moving The Mountain', Channel 4's 'First Sunday', LWT's 'Saturday Night Live' etc and feature films include Willy Russell's 'Dancing Through The Dark'. as a team player & co-producer I've worked on projects with Bill Laswell, Axel Kroell, The Berman Bros & many unseen/unsung heroes of modern production.
I play violin, viola, keyboards, guitar, electric bass, percussion & macbook pro, though never all at the same time, occasionally DJ & I own & run Sun Productions, production house & recording studio in Notting Hill a stone's throw from Trevor Horn's place (gwaan Trevor! one of the most lovely polite & unassuming people in the business). from here I write & record pop for artists, labels & management, put out the odd dance release and create/co-ordinate production music for film & TV.
2006 was a member of Psapp, BMI award winners for the 1st season Gray's Anatomy theme 'Cosy In The Rocket', toured the US, Canada & Europe in with Domino labelmates José Gonzalez & Juana Molina promoting the release of the album 'The Only Thing I Ever Wanted'.
whilst pretty busy with live work I'm also back in the studio this year brewing some filthy concoctions, also writing some music! - watch this (my) space.........
