Lost Girls Pirate Academy

About Me

After inheriting the captaincy of Neverland's best-known pirate ship, Wendy Darling aka Red-handed Jill founded the Lost Girls Pirate Academy with first mate Green-eyed Sue. The Academy's mission is to "turn each girl into a pirate before long, by teaching her survival, how to sail, and to be strong," and its Latin motto translates gracefully into the perfect battle-cry: Never Grow Up, Never Give In!
Since the Academy's founding, Lost Boys have also joined the crew and learned to sail, though the Lost Boys and the Pirates continue to compete against each other in a tournament of skill each Saturday. That said, the days of Boy and Pirate enmity are gone, replaced by good-natured sportsmanship and the pursuit of knowledge by the bold and young-at-heart. This space, like its soon-to-launch sister lostgirlspirateacademy.com, is intended as a forum for alumni and hopefuls to experience and add to the creative works which surround the Academy, which include the exclusively commissioned Amy Brown piece 'Pirate Girls', and the music of S. J. Tucker, aka Green-eyed Sue, whose name is oddly identical to that of our cofounder, and whose talents have provided the oral history of the Academy's beginnings (see The Wendy Trilogy, Sirens, 2006) as well as our Alma Mater.
It is the fond wish of the Academy's every member that fiction, visual art, poetry, and new songs be collected and shared here and on our website, thereby calling our sisters in from afar and reminding the world that "a roving band of sisters singing songs and raising hell" is indeed cause for celebration!
Our background image was joyfully commissioned from the amazing Amy Brown, and we use it here with her full and gracious permission. Find more of her works of wonder at AmyBrownArt.com
