Spawned on planet Far-Far of the M83 galaxy, Jose Morales Gonzalez (Far-Far is coincidentally populated by mainly Hispanic people) became Dj Ango back in 2007. The name came from his influence in music: Jazz Guitarist Django Reinhardt.
His breakthrough came in January 2008 when he came to Earth and basically took an awesome band and just laid other tracks over it. Kind of like laying train tracks where train tracks are already are. (Get how I used tracks?) This redoing of the band Ratatat's music gained the attention of Rolling Stone and caused an uproar all over internet blogs. Dj Ango holds the record for most consecutive posts on music blog aggregator HypeMachine at 26 posts. His album debut studio album MonkeyPotatoButt consists Ratatat's Self Titled and Classics album including over 100 other artists. Literally.
Although success was plentiful in the States and UK, he had been banished from his home planet for being too awesome. However, press coverage on Earth began to be hateful claiming that all Dj Ango is was a bedroom Dj. Becoming depressed, Dj Ango looked towards the bottle to rid his troubles. He was kind of the Hancock in the movie Hancock. In May of 2008, Galactus, eater of planets, destroyed Far-Far. Having no planet to happily live on, Dj Ango changed his name and went under the alias of Freddy Adu and is now playing football for S.L Benefica in Portugal.
Dj Ango however does have the opportunity to perform live shows for his underground league of faithful fans. His unique blend of live keyboards, drum machines, guitars, mash-ups and remixing on the fly creates flocks of drunken college students trying to dance.
"An embarrassment to all self-proclaimed Djs"
- Ken Rogers, Rolling Stone
"The future of horrible music."
- Miranda Wright, Complex Magazine
"First there was global warming, now there is this guy. We have to do something before it's too late."
- Hal Emmerich, Philanthropy
"Djangova just released another crappy mix. This time it's just a bunch of songs cross-faded together in a single track probably using GarageBand. Sloppily thrown together, the BPM's don't even match. You find yourself dancing to a decent song than having to currently adjust everytime a new song comes in. So bad. But download now here!"
