Julianna lives in North Salem, Indiana, a town of just 600 people. As far as music goes though Julianna reveals, "If anything is gonna happen it's gonna happen in Chicago." Julianna discovered the possibilities of hip hop back in January. And until doing so had wondered if her voice and poetry really had a place, save the local bluegrass open mics and facebook notes. Since then the metaphorical potential coupled with the desire for flow have left her stunned with ambition as she is eager to grow as an artist. Singing since an early age, her voice has been compared to Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, and Billie Holiday. When asked which she prefers, singing or rapping, she answers, "Both, it's the best when I can rap and sing in one track." Julianna hopes to elevate her ability to rhyme to the level of her Neu Modern Mafia Family. "Success would be nice 'cause it means recognition," she says, "but the dedication to craft is where self-respect forms. That's what I want from myself. To know that I didn't leave anything out. That I created something and figured something out about myself as a person."
