About Me

Layout by CoolChaser
Capable of powerhouse style vocals or smooth sensual sounds, Miya Collins is a vocal chameleon of sorts pulling in influences from all different directions while aiming to bring to her listening audience a sound that is uniquely hers. Her songwriting touches on romantic longing and erotic feelings, spiritual self discovery, candid observations, and some social awareness issues of today, presented in a live ensemble bouquet of soulful jazz, funk, fushion, contemporary and latin sounds.
"I've been spending a great deal of time in the studio devoting time to several projects but I'm most excited about this one because it was such a long journey to get here and it's finally coming to fruition. All these thoughts and feelings have been bottled for some time and it's so nice to be able to release them."
Friends: This page will be active in hopefully the next week or so (waiting on the mastering) in early October when I post my first song, "City Lights." I've lost all my new friend requests since I haven't logged in since May when I initially created this page. :-(......but I've keep track of everybody on my gmail so I'll look everyone up again! ;-)
UPDATES
10/10/08: I tried to upload City Lights but it's not showing up in the player yet but I'll find another way to stream it until it shows up. I hope you like it. Next track to be posted is socially charged, "Survive" coming soon.
11/01/08: Be on the lookout for uptempo funk driven "Survive" around the mid or end of November and you'll see Latin-Flavored "Last Day on the Earth" sometime in December.
I haven't decided how I'm gonna lay out the top friends list but I'll figure something out pretty soon.
12/01/08: I just put up Survive on this past Saturday and getting ready to put the lyrics up for both of the songs.
1/12/09: Happy New Year! Yay.....2009! I was gigging on both New Year's Eve and Day but it was all good! :-) Song Update: It's now looking like Febuary for the next song, (crossing my fingers!!...No snowstorms, flooding, cable internet problems!!) it will have a Bossa Nova Feel and be a song of joy and happiness. :-) Stay tuned...thanks so much for your support and friendship, I sooooo appreciate it. :-)
XOXOXOX
