Carl Gardner on Bassoon

About Me

Carl Gardner is currently a Junior currently enrolled in University High School of Fresno California and has been playing the bassoon for a total of six years. Carl has as a sophomore was principal bassoon of the CBDA's Wind Symphony All-State Band and CODA's All-State orchestra. Carl currently is studying with Prof. Larry Gardner (his dad) and is learning much in his field. Carl has taken lessons from people such as John Miller and Steve Dibner who have also helped Carl along his path to be a professional bassoonist.Carl recently received a command performance playing the piece Solo de Concert by Gabriel Pierne, accompanist Hatem Nadim, and can be heard on his myspace site. He also later performed the same piece accompanied by Byron Walker, a fellow UHSer, at a University High School student recital and can also be heard on his myspace site.Carl invites all to comment, critique, and leave suggestions on his music so in that way he may better himself and better prepare for the future. Finally, Carl's life philosophy is based off of one term that can sum up his work ethic: "Bassooner the Better."(Though they have the same frame, they are different movies)
