I'm in an indie rock band, 5HT, based in San Clemente, California. In case you don't know, San Clemente is located on the coast at the Southern end of Orange County. We're a three piece band that originally formed back in the early '90's. Our style of music reflected our major influences from the early to mid 80's; bands like U2, REM, Bauhaus, The Smiths, and The Cure. We played together until '95, then took a nine year break while I spent some time in Nashville and Boston. Round about 2005 we reformed. Slowly but surely we got things back into gear. Re-learned our old set of songs, but played them a little differently. Some of the difference had to do with improved skills, and improved equipment. But our tastes in music had changed over the 9 years. Less effects on the guitar, more jazz rhythms on drums, and and more funk on bass. We still write songs with an '80s alternative slant, but approach them with a 30's something refinement and a 21st century touch.
