After taking part in an emotional march of protest in the village of East Runton Cromer Norfolk concerning saving our post office and indeed all regional postal services across the UK I was moved and inspired to create this My Space.
Some of the folk that took part in the March were elderly and disabled, people that perhaps took part in the second world war to fight for the freedom we enjoy today. The Village post office is such an important part of community life and a vital service for many.
I have never seen this type of passionate reaction in the 28 years I have lived in East Runton. Roads were blocked as hundreds of protesters took to the streets, it was an incredible sight. Norman Lamb MP made a speech that touched the hearts of many and delivered a message that will hopefully be heard by our Prime Minister.
This sad state of affairs is hard to imagine it could be happening to our local communities. I would like to thank MySpace for providing such an excellent window of communication, not only for trivia topics but for useful and powerful means of projection when it really matters.
