About Me

I know what it feels like to play an original composition in front of a small audience, and feel the warmth from their applause. But I also know what it feels like to have a cops' flashlight glaring in my face in South Central Los Angeles.
One thing that bugs me, are people who are intolerant of other people who are not as well off as they are. Who are they to judge? Those are shallow people in my opinion. Another thing that bothers me is how complacent people can be when any kind of injustice is happening to anyone.
I love to feel the breeze on my face and in my hair. I love the sound of the ocean and the sound of the rain. I love the smell of good food cooking. I love the sounds of children's laughter. Here's a big variety for you: I love Burt Bacharach, Davey Havok, Snoop Dogg, Martha Stewart, Deepak Chopra, Marion Jones...I love scary movies (in the dark), suspense and old movies (especially on rainy days), I love to hear music that brings back sweet memories. I love to laugh. I love the bass in music I like. I love it when people feel better about themselves. I love Hershey bars with almonds. I love being me, even though I can be crazy and weird and lazy sometimes. I love men. I love women. I love to kiss. I love hugs. I love love.
But there's one thing I've never seen:
the look of love in someones eyes
while they're looking at me.
Peace.

There is a story about the video below. I didn't get it because of the video itself (there's not much to it). The group performing the song was called Black Russian, and they were immigrants from the Soviet Union. When I first heard the song, "Leave Me Now" I fell in love with it and I fell in love with the three group members. Through the years I tried to find out if they'd released another song, or just what they were up to and the strangest thing happened. No one had ever heard of them! I even called the record label they were on (Motown!) and they told me they had no record of Black Russian--ever. So for many years I was worried, thinking that maybe something might have happened to them politically or something but I never knew. I just happened to type in the name at You Tube and VOILA!: The song was there! Other comments mirrored mine...people were perplexed at the "disappearance". But now I have the song again and I'm pleased to share it. (There's actually a nice modulation near the end that builds into Natasha's climactic vocal.)
UPDATE: Natasha Shneider, formerly with the "Black Russian" group, who was a member of the group "Eleven" has passed away. A long journey for me ends very sadly. She was a phenonmenal talent.

Rest in peace, Natasha.

I can't believe I found this one too!!!
Love the music.
