Fall 2004
Keep away from emptiness, that is what Avoid stands for. Pure thrash metal!
Formed by guitarist Jokke Ponette, drummer Domien Huyghe and bassist Jan Bogaert, the band made some songs and did a few gigs.
However, Avoid really began to develop their true potential once outstanding new guitarist Nick David joined the fold late November 2004. The arrival of Nick really helped setting the dark mood for the new Avoid tone. Faster riffs, heavier songs, screaming death vocals and blast beats. Avoid became a cocktail of thrash, brutality, melody and aggression!
2005
And yes, Avoid finally found what they were looking for. Composing song after song the foursome felt an upwards evolution in each track they’ve created. After some live performances, avoid already founded a small fan base. One of the main reasons the gang decided to work on some new materials that would be recorded in 2006.
2006
Time to hit the studio! Although it was a two days recording ( one day recording and one day mixing and mastering ), the new avoid demo, Forest Of Sorrow ( mixed and recorded at Second Test Recordings) unlocked many doors for the band. After Velorock ( with Mortifer, Axxis, Epica, etc…) Avoid signed a contract with Rotten to the core to record their debut - album " Into Languish And Decay", containing 7 tracks, at Midas Studios.
