About Me

We started around 2000 or so, doing Casio Goth dance with a very dark Godflesh/Joy Division influence. The original lineup was K. Segars (keyboard, lead vox, percussion, guitar) and B.C. Cowen (bass, keyboard, backing vox, lead vox), it quickly became Clay Cowen (lead vox) and Kyle Segars (keyboard, backing vox). Our original tapes were apparently destroyed (we had enough stuff for a very full album) sometime around when we started shifting into more of a comic absurdist synthpunk territory. (The only surviving songs from these earlier recordings are the Gothic "Demonic Session" and the punk "Welcome To The Denny's Academy".) Shortly afterward, a long period of inactivity began for the Dementia Project. Sometime last year, Skot Tome (also in another band with Kyle, called Kitten Felcher) mixed our first new track in years, "Skin Tap". We spend much time inactive, getting together only at certain times (separated sometimes by as much as several years) to record.
