About Me

Ziyad Sahhab is a music composer and songwriter; he’s studying musicology in Antonin University. He started playing the oud at the age of seven. He became a member of the Beirut Arabic music orchestra in 1993. At the age of 13, he performed solo at the Cairo Opera House. He founded his own band in 2001, that participated in many local festivals (babel theater, madinat theater, Beirut theater, beit l fan Tripoli, maarouf saad’s saida...) and world-wide festivals (Tunisia, Egypt, Italy, France, Turkey, England, Jordan...) in his first album "Ouyoun El Bakar" (Forward music) released in 2004,Ziyad composed songs written by the Egyptian poet Salah Jahine. Ziyad's second album is called “keep on singing" (forward music), the poems of egyptian writers Ahmad Fouad Najem and Mohamad Kheir as well as his own texts in a style that is unique and particular. Ziyad composed music for plays like “waiting for godot” by Roger Assaf.TV documentary “Palestine street” al jazeera English, “Alive in limbo” by Tina Naccache... He also composed songs for Lebanese singers like: Hanine, Elie Rizkallah, Soumaya Baalbaki, and May Nasr. Ziyad and his band participated in 26 episodes of a weekly musical program called “karaoke” on future tv.
