.:: JEROME XL's INFO ::.

Jerome XL's Biography:

Jerome XL, a Dutch Hip Hop entrepreneur, that is on his way to expand his borders on many levels. At 28 years of age, Jerome can call himself ; LAB13 C.E.O., Studio Owner, Emcee, Producer, Beatcreator, Webdesigner and numerous other titles. Living in the underground section of our Hip Hop world, Jerome can claim credit for a lot of remarkable happenings.

It all started in the early 90s ,when Jerome got caught up in the culture he would learn to accept and love under the name Hip Hop. After getting started on some beats in the attic , Jerome started to get the feeling that this was the thing he that he lived for. And then in 1999 ,after winning his first price ever in front a buckwild crowd , Jerome got really hooked on this rap thing. Then the addiction went fast. School was becoming less important (yeah yeah,he still graduated, don't worry !) and raps were written everyday ,freestyle cyphers spawned on every corner, and Jerome participated in every single one of them. This is the reason why Jerome XL is known for his extremely high level of freestyle skills. Lets say it has been more then once that people did not believe that Jerome XL was freestyling on air. And every time Jerome took the challenge and asked the sceptics for a topic. And every time he ripped a part the chosen beat with an incredible flow and knife sharp rhymes, on point of the topic of course.

For an MC rhyming in Dutch, Jerome XL has had quite a couple of interesting collaborations with foreign collegues. Rhyming in Dutch, Jerome XL worked with none other then: Mr.Complex, Grand Agent, LilDap, Wordsworth, Zulu Nation and many other people and organizations. Rocking shows all over Holland, Jerome XL has been on virtually every stage in the country.

For a long time, Jerome XL was part of a duo, under the name Jerome XL & DRT, they toured the Netherlands. Known from the duo Jerome XL & DRT, is that they have a long history of rapping and rocking mics. And after rocking shows in this formation for about 2 years, releasing several tracks on (inter)national compilation albums, representing Holland side to side next to kings like; Masta Ace, Mr.Complex, Grand Agent, and others,the debut video was released. The first week it hit ..22 in the national video charts, and the name of the two MCs was settled once and for all. But on top of the hit position in the video chart, they won the Flevoland music award 2004. Meaning a lot of free publicity and a spot in the semi-finals of the Grote prijs van Nederland (the Big price of Holland,..largest national talent show for underground artists)

So that was a nice start of the real game. The next step. A debut album, with DJ Muze.Sick on the cuts, Koeck Op! was a real underground album. Recorded with limited resources, the album was a little wonder on its self. With the help of people like Promoe and Supreme (Looptroop Rockers), Def-P, and Grand Agent, this album was soon to be known as a critical Hip Hop album for a more mature audience. With heavy flows and deep "non-gimmick" topics ,these cats where not to be taken lightly.

After a second video on national television , Jerome XL and DRT decided that they both had to go their own way. DRT went on playing in a fusion funk/rap band, and Jerome XL was aiming for a solo album that would be to be created on his own view of the world.

And that leaves us in 2006. Keep your eyes and ears open for the upcoming album, Jerome will be back, thats for sure. With collaboration tracks with Wordsworth, Craig G, Unknown Prophets, Promoe & Supreme, Truth Enola, and other friends, Will this project raise the level of real Hip Hop in Holland ?? Judge for yourself when it drops, shouldn't be to long anymore.

Let's keep Hip Hop pure,... clean and for the people like you and me...
