Shaunteka LaTrese Curry is an artist in every essence of the word. Born singing, Shaunteka has been speaking and writing since she came into the spiral called earth. At an early age, she embraced her gifts one actively making known, the other she hid until she could no longer contain it. Getting a taste of success early in life by performing at the World Renown Carnegie Hall she saw what her future was becoming, too much for someone so young. Upon that epiphany her writing became more dominant and singing took a back seat. It wasn’t until the two worlds collided via an invitation to sing along side a friend at a spoken word venue. That night she found comfort in knowing at anytime she could enjoy both her passions at the same time. Shaunteka LaTrese has overcome strong holds that have crippled her mentally, socially, and spiritually. Focusing on the internal beauty of her life, she uses the gifts given to mentor and help individuals who find themselves broken and alone. Poetry has given her life true purpose which she intends to share. Since she began performing she has had the privilege to the stage with some of the most Gifts Poets and writers of this time...appearing on Real Arts of Birmingham, The Q.U.E.S.T., Carnegie Hall, Words Cafe Live with QuietHouse Entertainment, Rhymespot, Latte Lounge and a Host of many others....

Speak Life is a workshop program designed to help teens overcome the peer pressures of society. Children today need a solid foundation internally so that when the principalities come they will know how to take a Stand. We have designed the program in a four-week phase; which will include a self love motivation devotional. With this program being based upon the principles of Love, the teachings and lessons will not be altered. These life lessons will place a small foundation of hunger into a teen spirit that will have them pursuing the faith based principles like society is in the pursuit of money.Invoking Closed Ears is a performance arrangement by Author and Founder of the Speak Life Foundation and Poetic Collective Press.
