Farsighted (2000 - 2006)

About Me

Hey friends, after almost five years of playing music in this band i still can't believe that it happened. I guess any of you who were at the last show saw a glimpse of how much i care about music and what farsighted had the chance to experience for the last couple of years on the road. With tears forcing their way out of my eye sockets from the deepest part of me I said thank for one last time with joel and tyler by my side. I had about a billion sweet memories with them and our other guitarist terry, and my buddy chris. you guys are so sweet. i can't wait to see what happens in all of your lives. but inside i feel the same way about each and every one of you great people that ever saw us play or heard one song on someones ipod in the back of a schoolbus. All of you are an inspiration to me because you help me learn new things about life and what it means to truly live. So as I enter a new chapter in the story of my own life and I think about the day that occurs for each of you, know that you are special and have more meaning than you could ever know. I have moved to regina and am playing with a band called means. I am so excited about this opportunity to keep doing what i love and do it with some of the greatest friends i could ever ask for. please come see us one day and i seriously can't wait to talk to you all again one day soon. so thanks again, for everything.
Todd
Farsighted...deaD. I never thought id see the day come so soon. It seemed like we were just getting started! I suppose this band has been around for a fair time, and all good things come too an end. Forunatly for us, only to spawn much bigger and better things in the future. Weve had an absolute blast treking around the country the last couple years. Blowing up water mains in medicine hat, climbing statues in montreal, silly string fights in saskatchewan, an immeasurable amount of water bottles used as porta-potty's ( and one unfortunate littering ticket invovling one of them!), dead birds in trailers, busted alternators in bc. shows for two people and shows for 2000. I consider it a priviledge to have met every single person we came into contact with. I begin to put into words how much you all have inspired me and encouraged me. Everyone who came to our shows and hung out with us, the bands we had the chance to play with and tour with, all the familys that were gracious enough to let us into your homes... i know 4 of us rowdy teenage dudes maybe were a bit of a handful, but thank you so much for absolutly everything anyone has ever done for us. Playing in this band has tought me so much, and its been amazing sharing that all with you. Playing that last show in edmonton and hearing so many of you singing the words back to us with so much force....well my tears pretty much said it all, but i think that was pretty much the closest thing i'll ever hear on this earth to a chorus of angels. Thank you thank you thank you thank you one thousand times over. And im so thankful to god above for blessing me with the opportunity to continue pursuing music. Since farsighteds demise i have assumed the drumming position in a little band from calgary called Kiros. So i suppose i'll be doing the whole starving musician thing a little longer ( Im actually currently on the way to my first gig with them.... but our van in broken down in the middle of nowhere washington state......haha). Hopefully i'll see many familiar faces across this country and others in the very near future!
Sincerely, Tyler
Such memories I tell ya...wow the memories. I was a member of Farsighted for many years up until last fall when I decided to pursue a different career. and i tell ya, that was one of the hardest decisions i've ever had to make in my entire life. And I have to say that being in Farsighted has helped make me who I am today... todd, tyler, joel, and chris, what amazing people. you guys are the best friends anyone could ask for, and the best band mates anyone could ask for too. such good times treckin across the country...meetin all you amazing people along the way. i just want to thank everyone who has ever came out to a farsighted show, anyone who has ever listened to our music, anyone who has ever mentioned our name, anyone who let us stay over at your place for a night and fed us starving people, haha and even anyone who has even thought about us. you guys are what made farsighted possible. you guys helped me become who i am today and i just want to thank you for that. unfortunately, i was unable to make it to farsighted's last show, i would have loved to get up on stage one last time with them guys, but i was unable to do so. Ahh..i get teary eyed thinking about it all. if you ever get the chance to check out todd's killer new band "means" or tyler's righteous band "kiros" or joels kickn band "dear (your name here)" i highly recommend it. i guarantee they will go on to do amazing things. i could go on and on so i think i'll end it here and just say thank-you again and again. if you are taking the time to read this, i just want to say thank you for letting me share this special part of my life with you. you are an amazing person and like todd said...you have more meaning that you could ever know. thank-you so much
Sincerely, Terry
Well, I guess that means I'm up last. I know thank-you's have been given out a lot already, but I'd also like to thank everyone who ever inspired us to make music, including people that we don't even know, as well as people that worked closely with us over the years we played together. We are in eternal debt to you for the confidence and the sense of accomplishment you have instilled in us to continue making music, even if it is in separate projects. More than anything else, I really want to comment on the heart of the band. This band was never about us. This band, above anything, was about our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, whom each of us has a passion for. This band wasn't about going up on a stage and preaching a sermon, but it was about being the best that we could be at everything we did to please our God above. I pray that each and every one of you sensed that passion at our shows, and that your spiritual life has grown, if only a small amount, from the experiences we had with you. As Terry said, I've now got a solo project that I'm working very hard on, called "Dear (Your Name Here)". If you'd like to check out some of my stuff (by clicking on the banner below), that would be sweet. I worked very hard on recording a CD this past summer, and it will be released this coming winter. I'll also be heading out on the road in March for a while to tour Canada and the United States. Hope to see you all again. Thanks friends.

Hello out there in computer land. Ya, I guess Joel forgot about me but thats ok, I'll throw a muffin at him when he's not looking. For those of you who don't know who I am umm... I don't know, and for those of you who do umm... ya. I want to thank everyone who has ever supported us over the years - we needed you. Thanks to all the my Farsighted boys for rockin with me and for being super dudes. I pray that you go on to do greater things - I know you will. Thanks so much to God for the gift of music and for giving us the ability to make it and for giving us the opportunity to share it with the world. It's so incredible, unexplainable. I hope and pray that this music we have shared has been meaningful to you all and has drawn you closer to Christ in some way. I encourage each one of you to seek out your purpose in life because there is so much more than where we are at right now. For those of you who don't know I got married to a lovely girl named Shawna last year and ya, we're married. It's nothing but goodness. We're leading a young adult missions team called Team Canada International Missions for the next 7 months and we're looking forward to seeing what God is going to do in our lives. We just got back from Mexico. It was such an amazing experience. We'll be doing some touring around Western Canada for a few months and then we're off to Liberia, Africa during the winter. Keep us in your prayers and check us out at http://www.myspace.com/teamcanadalloydminster. Sorry I don't know how to do the fancy banner stuff like those other tech masters. See ya later alligator. Thanks for being who you are. Blessings.
Chris French
