About Me

THE CURFEW GIRLS The misfit punk crew that makes you wanna get home on timeImagine the sixth Spice Girl..... if she was Patti Smith! Marvel at this dark punk outfit and their queercore antics! According to THE CURFEW GIRLS Hercules didnt have a love affair, til he met Suicide!Auckland besties, ex-UK punks and NYC rappers on pause.... this NZ pop-punk-swamp 4 piece mixes bad-ass vintage vox with heavy boy-bass not to mention tough-girl drums! The Curfew Girls have already snatched the mic off the underground and they aint giving it back."Girl power can go eat a dick - The Curfew Girls wipe the floor with you! www.cheeseontoast.co.nzIn 2008 Auckland drummer Killer Liz and local bass-player Pretty Riki went on a search for some lead-singer synergy. Killer Liz had drum-rolled in the London ex-pat genius that was EVIL. Both she and her fav bassist had already torn shit up in the underground punk group HORROR MAGNET (circa the early naughties - where were you?)Both punks got more then they bargained for when they met the gender-bending electro-shock of S.T.U.D (aka Kimmy 'Swampy' Swanson). S.T.U.D had already rapped and seduced half of NYC with her nasty charms, so quickly decided to christen the CURFEW GIRL team. MORE luck and extra vox was around the corner, the baby Trixie D smoked, screamed and bopped her way into the final line-up and suddenly this 70's punk garage band went swamp-pop!This September the D-grade darlings are writing punk riffs, homo anthems and distorting dittys while they prepare for Punkfest 2008. So far there is only one kinda feedback this quartet likes - and it aint yours.Curfew Girls say "we aint waiting up for you!!"BY JESSICOCO
