In the darkest of times comes the greatest art. This is the surrounding mentality that keeps Marasmus pummeling every entry of sound into your guts and brain. With extreme precision, the onslaught of all encompassing sound will smash any attempt to compromise the sinister intentions of this band to infect your mind with extreme violence that is communicated through beautiful hostility and imagination. This infectious underground band was started back in 2004 when a band named Die Section Ate was disbanded and was reformed to create Obsidian Shore. After a few shows and small out of town tours it became apparent that there needed to be another recreation. After members of Obsidian Shore left and went on play with Diskreet (S.O.A.R. Records), a few other members of the band refused to be discouraged and went on to form this upheaval of brutal tones known as Marasmus. Tommy and Devon from Obsidian Shore wanted to form a new hybrid of Death and Experimental metal. After about a month of searching for a good drummer, Devon got a call from Trynt Kelly, who just got back from the Iraq war and was ready to start a new band, and Marasmus was formed. Later that year, a good friend of Trynt's, Brandon Rockhold, was hired to play bass and the band was complete. What this band has accomplished in such a short time will only be a small testament of the total obliteration and waste of all who stand in the way of the beast of metal disease known as Marasmus!
