ANOTHER UKU-LOVELY DAY!
MUSIC COMING SOON...
Some original songs on the ukulele will be here soon, but in the meanwhile, here's my story, and I'm stickin' to it. (If you want to hear my other music in the meanwhile, please go here .)
MY STORY
My first instrument was a ukulele. When I was five, my dad brought home a baritone of unknown pedigree with the intention of keeping me away from his 1950-something Gibson guitar. It worked. I thought the baritone ukulele was a little guitar. However, six years later, once I had saved up enough money, I bought an actual 6-string guitar and have been playing such ever since. I don't know what happened to that baritone ukulele.
Now, I dearly love my Martin 00-16 parlor guitar, don't get me wrong, but something had been missing from my life for a long time and I just couldn't put my finger on it... until I put my fingers on the tiny little fretboard and nylon strings of my Bushman Jenny soprano ukulele (Feb 2008). Okay, so now my life is complete, I have attained musical nirvana, and could die happy... only I'm too busy playing my ukulele. Truly, uke were meant for me!
Aside from courting my ukulele, I also sing songs, write songs, play guitar (and occasionally openback banjo), perform solo and in a couple of groups 'round the Atlanta area, and am in the midst of working on several CD projects in my home studio. You can bet there's gonna be lots of ukulele on these recordings. And I'm writing most of my new songs on the uke. Can't put it down. You know how it is.
