If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.

About Me

I have a 5 year old son, Tyler. He is the joy in my life & just started kindergarten. His mother, Debbie, passed away on May 18, 2005 from cancer. I also have four wonderful stepchildren. Kristina is 19 & she has ventured out on her own. She has been such a tremendous blessing in my life. She helped to hold things together when it seemed like the world was falling apart. I can’t imagine ever being able to thank her for all she has done. Brian is 16 and currently living with his uncle. He is an amazing young man that has grown in so many ways since I have known him. He is the best big brother to Tyler. We share a lot of fun times when we are together. Brother’s Pizza, anyone? Leann & Marcie are Debbie’s oldest girls. They are 26 & 24, respectively. They are both awesome & I cherish the time we get to share with them & their families.

I enjoy sports. What can I say? I'm a man. I love baseball. I try to make at least a dozen Astros games a year. I have Texans season tickets & enjoy football season immensely. I'm not one of those guys that camps in front of the TV on Sundays like a zombie. I don't wager on the games. I adjust my church schedule on days that the Texans play at home so I can attend.

Serving the Lord is the most important thing in my life. If you don't put God first, you may as well put Him last. I strive daily for there to be more of Him & less of me in my life.

I believe that in order to improve your life, you must improve yourself. For years, I did not follow this belief & have come to the understanding that if I want my life to change, I must undergo some changes. I have become a big reader. Rather than camp in front of the TV, I have given myself over to feeding my brain. I am currently reading Bruce Wilkinson’s ‘Dream Giver’. I am also a big fan of John Maxwell & Joel Osteen.

Do today what other people don't so you'll have tomorrow what other people won't.

I'd like to meet:

Jesus Christ--I know I will one day.John Maxwell--His books have changed my life. He's the authority in leadership training, a former pastor, & he readily teaches that he learned everything he teaches from the Bible!Joel Osteen--Much the same. His sermons, messages, books & CD's have helped to renew my faith in my purpose in life & what God wants for me in life. Many, many more to add in the future.

Movies:

Movies that I enjoy....hmmm...Such a vast array...I don't get to the theater often enough to view a movie of my choosing. Mainly, I go to see kids' movies because I know Tyler enjoys them. For now, I'll rank them by degree of importance to me:Terry's Top 51. Left Behind 2. Left Behind 2: Tribulation Force 3. Forrest Gump 4. Frequency (very touching movie. It hits you right in the heart) 5A. Crash--the Oscar winner, not the crappy James Spader Holly Hunter flick 5B. Pulp Fiction (A thrill ride from start to finish)Top 5 kids' movies 1. Curious George 2. Finding Nemo 3. Ice Age 4. Hoodwinked 5 Lion King

Television:

Entourage (this show rocks!!!!) ; Sopranos ; Friends; Seinfeld; WSOP reruns; Astros baseball of course! Other than that, not too much time for TV. I've got much better things to do.

Books:

The Bible; Your Best Life Now; Today Matters; Traveler's Gift; Dream Giver
History tells us that in every age there comes a time when leaders must come forth to meet the needs of the hour. Therefore, there is no potential leader who does not have an opportunity to better mankind. Those around him also have that same privilege. Fortunately, I believe that God has surrounded me with those who will accept the challenge of this hour.My dream allows me to..• Give up at any moment all that I am in order to receive all that I can become.• Sense the invisible so I can do the impossible.• Trust God’s resources since the dream is bigger than all my abilities and acquaintances.• Continue when discouraged, for where there is no faith in the future, there is no power in the present.• Attract winners because big dreams draw big people.• See myself and my people in the future. Our dream is the promise of what we shall one day be.Yes, I have a dream. It’s a God-given one. It is greater than any of my gifts. It is as large as the world, but it begins with one.Won’t you join me?

Heroes:

Jesus Christ, above all. John Maxwell, Joel Osteen, my mom & dad, G. F. Watkins--my pastor; he's an awesome man of God
