Originally from Dryden, Ontario, Canada, Thomas has been playing bluegrass music since the age of 10, but didn't start taking it seriously until 1999, when along with his dad Larry, and brother Mike, he formed "The Muddy River Boys" which he played guitar with for 4 years. Shortly after, Thomas was accepted to ETSU in Johnson City, Tennessee on a Public Performace Scholarship for bluegrass music. He attended ETSU for three semesters, then left school and joined the Nashville based, "Mark Newton Band" in December 2004. He played banjo for the band and toured across the eastern U.S. with Mark for 10 months while calling Savannah, Georgia his home.
October brought big changes for Thomas... he left "The Mark Newton Band" and Savannah, Georgia, and spent close to a year playing guitar for, "The Boohers" while living in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Most recently, Thomas accepted the position as banjo player with Rounder recording artist, Alecia Nugent and is thrilled about this new opportunity. Thomas currently lives in the Nashville area and is working on a solo project featuring many of his good friends and original songs. Be on the lookout for great things to come from this young talent, already making a name for himself on the guitar and banjo.
Thomas personally endorses Proulx Guitars, by Mario Proulx.
Check out The Official Thomas Wywrot T Shirt Store for some pretty cool shirts that I recommend you wear.
Make sure to stop by and see Alecia Nugent's full tour schedule.
I also have a Youtube page that I put a bunch videos on from different shows I've played.

Here's the Alecia Nugent Band during IBMA September, 2006 playing "Too Good To Be True"
Before I started playing music for a living, I earned my keep acting in short films. Here is one of them based on the Tennessee Williams play "The Glass Menagerie"
Another new video that has begun to surface is one I acted in shortly after the "Glass Menagerie" video I stared in. This one is based on the book entitled, "Wuthering Heights." It's a two part movie in which I had to learn to speak a little "Old English." Quite challenging, but it paid off, as you will no doubt see. This video created a lot of buzz when it was released, and was the last video of the Pauselli / Wywrot partnership, which was hailed as, "The best Producer / Actor duo to come along... EVER!!!"
