I play the piano accordion and more recently the fiddle. I've lived in Manchester since 1997 and I'm originally from Corby, Northamptonshire.
I play French musette style accordion and have recently been getting into Klezmer music. I also learnt some Eastern European tunes when I was part of the Cambridge-based band Horace X. I've been steeped in Irish traditional music all my life which comes from my dad's side of the family who are from Fermanagh.
I have my own ceili band called Northern Ceol, available with caller for weddings, barn dances, anything. Until recently I was playing fiddle with Manchester band Ker Brise who play traditional Breton music. I sometimes play with the legendary Liverpool Ceili Band. I have been playing in various ceili bands since I was 16 (not very long ago then!)
In the early 90s I toured Germany with Pete Morton and Roger Wilson and I was a finalist in the BBC Young Tradition Award a couple of times. I have played solo accordion for Irish Dancing Competitions (feisanna), theatres, folk clubs, summer balls and in restaurants as a French accordionist.
In 2008 I completed a course in Music Technology and spent a lot of time in the Cutting Rooms recording studios in Manchester, so there will be more tracks appearing here soon. Thanks for stopping by.
