Be the Change (Tulsa) is based on the biblical principle of James 1:27 & Matthew 25:35-40. The heart of this movement is born out of those two scriptures studied at the Vertigo Bible Study Group. Students from Vertigo Bible Study and Pulse Youth Ministries (Be The Life) has captured the vision to Be the Change. Be the Change was founded by Cody Applegate, Mitchell Applegate, Stefanie Maksimowski, Rachel Applegate and Michael Smith. Be the Change is open to anyone who wants to make a difference in the world we live in, it's open to anyone who wants to Be the Change. Be the Change is in conjunction with Be the Change (OKC) & Be the Change (Albuquerque).
Be the Change (Tulsa) is inspired by the words and actions of Gandhi, who said, “We must be the change we wish to see in the world.†Be the Change (Tulsa) is made up of like-minded individuals linked by a common desire to see a change in their communities and the world around them.
We challenge others to commit to doing positive acts of change for the betterment of our community and our planet. We invite you to find out more about Be the Change (Tulsa), its mission, and principles.
Be the Change inspires people to notice what's happening in the world around them, to choose actions that create positive change, and to act as a living example of justice, mercy, (compassion) and faithfulness (Matt 23:23,24).
In the face of poverty, enslavement, social injustice, oppression, isolation, addiction, pollution, violence, and war, many of us are left feeling fearful, victimized or alone. Be The Change (Tulsa) provides each of us with a clear and powerful way to be a part of the change we wish to see in the world.
