About Me


The Pan Profeska band was created in 1998. The musical style proposed by the group could be best described as an idiosyncratic mix of lyrics and sound. The pulsating rhythm of ska music, the punk rock aesthetic and slightly dubbed sonance are complemented by the surreal and existential lyrics.
Since its conception the main creative force behind the group was MariO Rutczyński the author of majority of lyrics and music. In the beginning the group gigged a lot, occasionally recording sole tracks. In 1999 the recordings appeared on two compilations released by the „Machina” music magazine. In 2001 two tracks were Published as a part of the "Pol-SKA Norma vol. 1" compilation released by the Rock’n’roller record company. From 2001 to 2003 the band had composed the score for Lech Mackiewicz movie “To tu to tam” which was shown at the Gdynia 2002 Film Festival, and also proposed a new version of Polish national anthem, which was a part of the compilation entitled „Ways to victory…” published by „Życie” daily newspaper – 70 thousand copies.
Perennial fish-tailing between the World of pseudo-business and their own delusions, related to that changes in the line-up, live shows and new recordings have lead in the end to the creation of an album, which was produced by “Gabinet Pana Profeski” (Rytka&Rutczyński), and emergence of the final line up. These are the visionaries – amateurs as well as musicians, members of the top Polish bands, such as T.LOVE, SZWAGIER KOLASKA, DAAB, SIDNEY POLAK etc.
