I learned to play guitar very young; a lot of covers, from the Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell songbooks, and many off records. However, I've only been performing and writing my own songs for a few years
I spent 25 years in the IT (computer) business. But in 2003, my whole world changed. I was divorced, then lost my job to 'oursourcing'. As fortune would have it, I was in mid-town Memphis,Tennessee, a music-oriented kind of place, with quite a bit of 'alone time', and a lot of song material, I started playing open mics, writing and performing my own songs. I relocated to the Central Coast, CA, in 2005. I was slowed down some by trying to get on my feet, but continued writing, and playing open mics and other gigs in my 'spare time'.
I returned to Memphis temporarily in 2006, where I had the opportunity to record at the famous Sun Studios! I'm working on producing those recordings, as well as recording new songs, as I have the time. I rarely pass up an opportunity to play!
I live with Bill K, aka 'Stimulus Bill'. I have a beautiful daughter, Angelina (Angie-Doodle), who is now staying in Atascadero with our cat 'Sweet Tea'.
Seeing a need for 'community' between musicians, Bill and I, in Dec 2008, got a few musicians together to start the 'Music Makers and Friends' organization. It's a great club!
