Music … its fibers snake through the fabric of time and history, weaving together ALL life, opening wide, the lines of communication. It is both raw and refined, on an eternal quest to find its next vessel. The ultimate hypocrite, music inspires kindness, peace, love, and understanding while it simultaneously generates hate, aggression, oceanic depression, desperation, criminal activity, and death. Music moves … it swings moods, and it alters lives. Accused of everything, but guilty of nothing, music moves.
It corrupts the senses, and stirs the ghosts of imagination, raising us all from common soil. It possesses genius and sensibility as well as stupidity and recklessness … an aphrodisiac, and a heartbreaker. It is blind to gender, race, religion, and politics … it chooses sides, but remains neutral. Viral in its conception, and magnificent in its delivery, music is, the most beautiful tragedy ever created.
Not given a choice, we were cut from the same cloth. Bred and born from the same bitch-mother, we dream alike. We are from here, and we are from there, and we have seen all points between. We have been on the side of the defeated, and we have been the victor. We have been blessed, and we have been touched by misery, but we find a way to survive. We are young, and we are old … we ARE future vintage. We draw maps and forge trails, steering from the pitfalls of past error. Talent and decades of experience give us direction. We are an experiment in character, diplomacy, vision, and sound. We invent flow from free-thought … we charge towards destiny. The changing season has brought us here. We are the stray dog that should not have been fed, for now we return for more. We scratch at your back door as we cry to the midnight sun … let us in.
