About Me

Been playing guitar . . . er, a decade or four . . . Songwriting and singing more recently. Haven't been an offical "band member" in recent years but have sat in with friends at gigs, open-mics and jams and there's no better feeling than when musicians feel it come together on stage . . . and even when it doesn't quite, it's STILL pretty good! Thanks to all who've let me sit (or stand) in . . . Working on a CD collection of original songs, probably twelve tracks . . . can only spend a few hours a week in the studio, but the process is fun despite the slow going. The songs on myspace so far are home demos, but I will post some studio versions as they come together. UPDATE: They're all now studio versions -- in progress. . . thanks to Mike Chafin of "Retro Rocket" for contributing (click the "lyrics" tabs for details) . . . Check out my friends and photo section to see who my favorite local (NEPA) artists are, they are all worth getting out to see EVERY CHANCE YOU GET!

My Interests

Influences: The Beatles of course . . . mostly all of the late-sixties rock/pop acts, what a wonderous period for popular music . . . in particular Buffalo Springfield, Simon and Garf, Steve Winwood and Traffic, Byrds, CSNY (Y in particular, as a songwriter and great one-note soloist) . . . somewhat later da blues too, Allmans, country-rock (don't say Eagles, say "Poco"). . . In my yute I missed the boat on British folk-rock but later had the pleasure of discovering the music of Nick Drake, Sandy Denny, and the great Richard Thompson -- the single best (and bizarrely overlooked) artist/performer of the whole rock-era shebang, IMHO. (Still kicking butt in his late fifties, check him out on some YouTube clips and be prepared to get floored) . . . and not to forget our under-appreciated American treasure, John Hiatt ("Thing Called Love", "Have a LIttle Faith in Me") -- check him out too, decades of great songwriting and performance, and still cookin'.
Sounds Like: All 'dem influences, I hope, stirred in my own pot.
