About Me

Eleven years in the making and based in Brighton (UK), Tom Stephens has perfected the art of producing, engineering and mixing tracks which aren’t afraid to defy convention.
Recently finishing the production of Baby Charles’s album, he managed to take modern musicians, and produce a sound that was resonant of late 60’s funk. Giles Peterson muses how he was ‘…confused about whether that’s a new recording, whether that’s a rare, previously unknown thing… I dunno…’
Producer, engineer and mixer, he can organise studio time, get involved in rehearsals and develop any sound to meet an artist’s need. He can mix, create backing tracks, liaise with record labels and ease the fears of the budget-conscious. Whatever - his actions are determined by the artist and for the artist.

Experiences
‘It’s a real pleasure working with Tom. He’s professional, knowledgeable, and also friendly, patient and honest. His passion for music and sound really comes through, from his engineering of a session, right down to the final mix and production.’ Simon Hill – Baby Charles
‘Tom will always be my first port of call for any mixing or production work from now on. His enjoyment in doing the mix was infectious and his knowledge and confidence around the equipment made me sure that he would be able to get the right sound for what I was trying to achieve, this along with his relaxed and friendly style and his great attention to detail made him a genuine pleasure to work with.’ Charlie King - Lylt
