Mom ’n’ Pop

About Me

Mom 'n' Pop is a band. Theresa McCarthy (singer, songwriter, guitar) and Roy Truax (songwriter, bass, vocals) make the music that is Mom 'n' Pop.The sound is folk with one dash of prog and a soupçon of pop. With lyrics from McCarthy & Truax, poet Holly Anderson, the hopeful writers of Xmas wishlists.Mom 'n' Pop play a few songs. Mom cleans the house; they contemplate black holes, infinity and the space-time continuum. She dreams of a beautiful gleaming vacuum cleaner more powerful than any she has ever encountered. He recalls their young love affair and youthful wildness. Mom sings a twisted ode of passion to her sweet Pop; then handily whips up beautiful hairdos for her daughters. Pop wonders about the chaos unleashed upon the world by the Last Superpower(TM) as they both mind the store.A woman who used to have a name (other than mom) sings a few songs to stave off boredom, rage and despair. She cleans the house; she contemplates black holes, infinity and the space-time continuum as she dreams of a beautiful gleaming vacuum cleaner more powerful than any she has ever encountered. She recalls love affairs and wildnesses; creates twisted odes of passion to her husband; whips up beautiful hairdos for her daughters; examines the chaos unleashed upon the world by the Last Superpower(TM) as she waits for the good things that come to those who wait.
