Orin

Orin Henselyn comes from a long jazz linage that can be traced back through time. He has studied under saxophonists Hadley Calliman, Bob Antolin, and Melessio Magdaluyo, and Pete Cornell. He has played in many bands since migrating north from the bay area to attend Cornish. He has played around town with a variety of bands and musicians including The Cucialites, JahSonItes, Nuffsed, Sarah Rose and The Scandals, The Spirit of Ojah, Funkscribe's Family Affair, The Tom Borg Nine, Leisure Sound, Hertical, HelaSquidSquirlFunk, MCZ & The Albino Rhinos, The Maccabees, and Roofless to name a few. He has jammed on stage with bands ranging from Marmalade, to Little Big Man. He has recorded a track with Bob Antolin (Homeland Insecurity). In addition Orin played on his first commercially released track featured on Funkscribe's Fresh new Album "Synthesized Soul" on the infamous "Booty Call" {Hooked up on a Hookup} which also features Dan Rappaport on Guitar, and Holly Thronton, The Funkscribe. Currently Orin is focusing in on a variety of musical endeavors running the gauntlet from his own home grown "Leisure Sound" Funk Reggae Jazz sound,and brand new HelaSquid-SquirlFunk a fresh new experimental reggae jazz project, to playing bi-monthly shows with the crowd pleasing Tom Borg Nine, a eight to fourteen piece R&B funk and rock band. Orin is a proud member of the local musicians union and is currently available for band or solo bookings.
