STAN formed during the Reagan administration when Rollie Flackel and DJ Svenn Kowalski realized that great fun could be had by combining the telephone with a Voca-Tron intercom system and a cassette recorder. Fueled by a love of National Lampoon, Monty Python and Scheafer twelve-packs, STAN recorded a huge amount of audio anarchy in the 80's, including; Rio Vibrato, Voca-Tron On, Cool it, DJ Sven, Beautiful Cheese, Holy Casio, Crime Report, Atrium, and Mr. Scabby Wah. There were many collaborations during this time, including stints with Stanual B. Mann, Hanyak, Burke, The Jackals of Rosemead, Mowry, and Bee Bee Boyd.
The 90's marked a major turning point for STAN when they realized that instruments and vocals could be used to make songs and that chicks in bands were cool. Excited by these revolutionary discoveries, many new songs were born. Zealot's Fire, Pinto Bean, Scrawny Red Rowland, Baywatch Shutdown, Dead Tasty, Meat Nap, Jerry Rice, and Crack this Beer were some tasty favorites during this time.
Today STAN enjoys cocktails ASLT.
