About Me

I thought I would post the lyrics to some of the songs I have here at myspace just in case anyone wanted to read them. I write from the heart cause that's the only way I know how to write.
One More Mile
When I think of you
Your days on Earth they were so few
I wish I'd been there to see you
I've read about your strife
I've thought about you all my life
I only wish that I had known you
I know someday that I will see you
Some day you'll look at me and smile
But for today I'll keep believing
With you my Lord I'll make it
One more mile
When I think of you
And all the things you did for me
Oh precious Lord I long to see you
I never knew
Just how it felt to be near you
But I feel as if I know you
I know someday that I will see you
Some day you'll look at me and smile
But for today I'll keep believing
With you my Lord I'll make it
One more mile
Clouds In My Eyes
Me and you
The sky so blue
A sweet lullabye
These clouds in my eyes
The world spinnin round
Can you hear the sound
The wind blows through my mind
Take these clouds From my eyes
I touched The sun
Count the rays one by one
Paint your face in the skies
Brush these clouds form my eyes
I saw your face
Your smile looked out of place
Your laugh turned to sighs
All I see, clouds in my eyes
Pin Wheels (Written by my son, Robert M. Hand)
Pin Wheels
Countless these wind mills
Spinnin round here
Chasing themselves
For eternity
As far as
the eye can see
And it makes me feel
so small inside
Yeah it makes me feel
so lost in it all
And it makes me feel
so cold inside
Yeah it makes me feel
at one with it all
Timeless
Time passes by
as it slips by unnoticed
Through the ages it rolls
Never stops...never pauses
Time never ends
It just goes on forever
Timeless we are
Ever changing like weather
Timeless
There’s no end or beginning
Timeless
Like a clock with no hands
Timeless
Life goes on never ending
Timeless
Like waves washing sand
Seasons they come
Arrive with no warning
They leave us behind
Like a day leaves the morning
Time travels on
On an unending journey
Timeless we are
Eternally yearning
Timeless
There’s no end or beginning
Timeless
Like a clock with no hands
Timeless
Life goes on never ending
Timeless
Like waves washing sand
It's taking us there
To where we are going
Like leaves in the wind
On a wind ever blowing
There's no turning back
Can't beg steal or borrow
Bring all your dreams
You can find them tomorrow
Timeless
There's no end or beginning
Timeless
Like a clock with no hands
Timeless
Life goes on never ending
Timeless
Like waves washing sands
Like waves washing sands
Like waves washing sands

I hope to make this a song if I can come up with some music for it.

Well, I started playing acoustic guitar when I was 12 years old. My brother was left handed like me and had an old guitar that he never played. I picked it up and was hooked from the first time I played. When I was a kid I couldn't afford guitar strings so I took different sized fishing line and strung my guitar with that. It worked fairly well and I had a lot of fishing line so I played all the time. I have always played by ear and could always listen to a song and then play it after a few tries. My Grandmother had an old upright piano and I would spend hours playing that thing. I have never learned how to read sheet music. I always felt like if I did learn to read music I wouldn't have the same emotion come through in my playing. I have seen many traditional musicians who did read music and they seemed stiff and unable to improvise. I can play a lead run to a song I have played a hundred times and still play it a little different on any given day. I guess I like the freeedom to experiment and to be myself. I'm a little old fashioned I suppose. I was raised in the country on a farm when times were different. We had no TV or CD playerswe just had each other and that is still a big part of me to this day. I have a small piece of land I call home and I have about 20 quarterhorses to keep me company. I also have many other animals around if the horses don't want to talk to me. I write mostly acoustic songs about real life things I live and see. I love to collaborate with other acoustic players and have collaborated many times thanks to myspace. I had another myspace page that I had for quite sometime and had many friends but I got a wild hair one day and cancelled my account. I was called Cross Road at that time. I guess I needed a change for some reason but in retrospect I wish I hadn't cancelled it cause I lost all those friends who had befriended me and I can only imagine how they felt when I was suddenly gone. So I am starting over again with my new band name "Bitter Sweet Blue" Nowadays I compose songs that I like instead of songs that everbody else likes. I guess you could call it Bluegrass/Folk/Pop/Rock or something like that. What ever you call it I enjoy making it and I hope someone out there likes it too. Please feel free to get up with me if you get the urge to collab. My door is always open!!

Band Website: Don't have one
Band Members: I was in a few bands a couple of years back and before that but we drifted apart so now there is mostly just me. Me and my son have been working together lately and have written two songs together. He is quite talented. It's a little tough to convince him of that but the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree they say! If the right people came along then I would gladly form another band. I miss the live interaction that exists in a band.
Influences: I have been influenced by many artists famous and otherwise. When I was a kid my father always wanted me to play Hank Williams Sr. songs so he was one of my first influences. I grew up with a lot of country music being played around me and whether I wanted to be influenced by it or not it did sculpt my early music years. When I was around 15 (1972) I started hearing a lot of the seventies rock bands like Deep Purple, Fog Hat, Joe Walsh etc. and I really liked the Eagles. I love their harmonies and I try to put a lot of harmonies in my songs. I'm not a lead singer but I can harmonize pretty darn good! After I settled down musically I started listening to bluegrass and I fell in love with it. I like finger picking and flat picking. I enjoy the sound of a good acoustic guitar. So any band that plays a lot of acoustic guitar has influnced me. I try to be open minded and just learn from others. You know, take the good with the bad. I love almost all music so I can learn from anyone.
Sounds Like: I'm sure you can listen to me play and think I sound like this person or I sound like that person cause I learned from a lot of people and they are all in there somewhere but I put all those people together and came out with my own unique sound. I don't think I sound like anybody but me, but I will leave that up to those who listen to me and I'm okay with that.
