About Me
Some people say that Chyna Lindsay’s intelligence, dedication and humility is what propels her talents. Others comment that it's her outgoing disposition and ability to connect with people. Those who know her well know both these observations are true. Those who know her best understand that her achievements thus far are only the beginning.
Chyna was in a car accident that changed the direction of her life. As I once read, “Today is a gift, that's why it's called the presentâ€! With that mindset, Chyna decided that fulfilling her dreams would become her number one priority.
Chyna’s ill-fated trip to Atlanta became a blessing that led to a variety of opportunities and a decision to relocate there. She became a writer for several prominent Caribbean newspapers and read the news for the “Natural Mystic Show†on 91.9 FM, the city’s most popular Caribbean radio station. Chyna also received training from DJ Doc of 107.9 FM, Atlanta’s second largest commercial radio station. “Working with Doc, I did voiceovers for commercials and learned the different aspects of radio production.†Chyna later found her niche when she landed a position co-hosting the music video show, Video Alley Reggae Top Ten.
Two-and-a-half years later, Chyna took a bold step and moved back to Jamaica in 2003. There she hosted “Plus Newsâ€, the entertainment news segment on one of Jamaica’s music channel, Music Plus TV. “At Music Plus I learned to edit, produce, and write for TV which tremendously increased my on- air hosting ability. I also built a reputable brand name for myself in Jamaica.†Before ending her one-year stint at Music Plus, Chyna was assigned to edit an interview for international Reggae star Patra. Patra was so impressed with Chyna’s ability to capture her vision with little time and no direction that she expressed interest in working with Chyna in the near future.
June 2004, Chyna was invited to Belize to do a documentary on one of Reggae’s hottest star, Sizzla Kalonji. Chyna and her Music+ camera crew documented Sizzla’s tour, which was the superstar’s first performance on the island. The following month, Chyna moved to New York City.
In 2006 Chyna was introduced to the Nutz Film family (NTZ Entertainment) the creators of Hip Hop Uncensored (www.hiphopuncensored.com) and a special bond was form. Now Chyna has partnered with NTZ Entertainment to bring you Reggae Uncensored (Reggae U). Look out for the DVD coming soon.
“As they say, people who fear death are those with regrets. One thing I learned from my car accident is I don’t want to live with any regretsâ€, confides Chyna. However, Chyna Lindsay has nothing to regret. She has conquered so much in such a short time and again, those who don’t know will soon realize; this was all just the beginning…
