About Me

In October of 2004, NEW ROME formed under a cloud of fate that hovered over Berklee College of Music. By the time they decided to record a demo around late March of 2005, NEW ROME suffered a major blow when their piano player stopped returning their phone calls. Unable to recover from this shocking devastation, the band slowly drifted, briefly going their separate ways. Resorting to a deadly little cocktail of heroine, cocaine, and failed suicide attempts, with 2/3 of their remaining members in and out of mental institutions up and down the tri-state area, it looked as though NEW ROME was caput. As though through some sort of Hollywood magic, an angel of music named MJ Kim swooped down and saved the day. Serving as the band's newest addition and star piano player, MJ withdrew the drugs from their veins and replaced it with sick bass lines, groovin guitar licks, melodic vocals, and silk- infused drum beats. Yes, kids, MJ saved the day, and to honor her as they rightfully should have, NEW ROME washed it's hands of their past, even changing their moniker to the now widely-known and aptly titled THE NEW ROME.
