VURDELL MULLER
DAMM GUUD ENTERTAINMENT
Inspired by iconic labels like Motown and the Laface of the 90’s, Vurdell Muller is a CEO with a plan for backing more than just artist. Intent on turning his label, Damm Guud Entertainment into the go to label for music that will be popular for more than just today, this visionary has plans to become a vital piece to the revitalization of music. Through his blueprint to success and ability to pick good talent, Vurdell Muller is effectively staking his claim in this industry we call music.“I’ve always had a passion for music,†states Muller. “I want to bring back that classic music feel that put longevity into songs. A lot of music out today is just for today but songs from other generations are still relative. When Marvin Gay’s ‘Sexual Healing’ comes on in the club or in the car, people go crazy. I want to bring that type of music back.â€Born and raised in the West Bank area of New Orleans, Louisiana, Muller has modeled his life off of the initiative that ‘everything worth having is worth working for.’ Reared in a two-parent household where dreams and aspirations were given space to grow, Muller received the confidence to take his piece of the industry and leave his mark. As a creative thinker, that recognized early on his ability to bring words into artistic flow, through his love for poetry, this multitalented leader has expanded his role of CEO to include songwriter and producer.Studying under the leadership of acclaimed producer, Deezle Harrison and heavily influenced by R. Kelly and his knack for painting a clear picture, Muller has successfully turned his ability to write poetry into a remarkable talent for putting words to music. With Harrison effectively teaching him how to write melodies and encouraging him to shoot for the stars, there is nothing this up incoming writer feels he can’t accomplish. Currently writing under the pen name Script, Muller is dedicated to evoking raw emotions and connecting with audiences as a whole, his talent lies in more than just stringing words together.“I write in my head,†says Muller, when discussing his creative process. “I’m always writing and sense I’m inspired by life which is always around me, that means I’m always writing. I want to be that type of writer that can relate to everyone. The boy in the suburbs, the girl in the hood, and the girl or boy all the way in Africa or Paris, I want to relate to them all. That’s why I make my music simplistically, so that everyone can relate and understand. It’s the best music is reallyâ€With his first artist off of the DG imprint, Rantz building a steady buzz and continuing to fuel the company, Muller looks to become the Quincy Jones of this generation. Knowing those are some big shoes to fill, Muller more than welcomes the challenge.
