DOGFIGHT REVOLUTION

About Me

Hailing from Wolverhampton The Dogfight Revolution began to stamp their distinctive mark on the Midlands music scene early in 2007 with their unique blend of psychedelic drone rock and eastern mystics. The four piece’s revolutionary sound has evolved from a fusion of influences…Syd Barrett, Velvet Underground, Primal Scream, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Spacemen 3, 13th Floor Elevators, Sonic Youth, Verve. Guitars, drums and bass are joined by drone machine, theremin, synth, Indian percussion and flute to create an inimitable wall of sound….a sound which pays homage to their legendary influences whilst breathing new life into their psychedelic roots. After a line of successful gigs around the region, with the most recent invitation to open the main stage at Godiva Festival in Coventry alongside the hotly tipped Glasvegas, Exit Calm and headliners The Enemy, the band are now releasing their first demo.Comprising of two tracks:The Jackal, a pulsating sonic assault described as “a psych drenched early oasis fucking primal scream, whilst on acid” John Dawkins, Numb Management and the surreal and swirling wave of Haunted House, a psychedelic opus layered with psyched out guitars, drones, flute and space drenched vocals.“The Dogfight Revolution's first song demonstrated very well their blend of '60's psychedelic and modern electronic influences. Throughout the set, their instrumental variation shone through and made sure that no two songs sounded the same: the combination of sharp Telecaster treble from the one guitarist and the warm mids and treble of the Jaguar was always a winner, and perfectly demonstrative of their '60's influence was the (very apt) use of Theremin. Their charisma also shone through in the emotive voice of their lead singer and their dynamic stage presence.” starveinheaven.com, 7/12/07“A full Velvet Underground tinged sonic assault. They've got that great 'chung chung' late 60's psych guitar sound going on together with drawn out, spacey vocals that ignite at the chorus.” thehearingaid.blogspot.com, 30/05/08With lyrics that make a statement and a commitment to pushing the boundaries of today’s music scene, the DFR are ready to convert you…For information and enquiries contact George De Rosa, Arcadeia Management on e: [email protected]
