Sophie was born in Athens. At the age of eight she studied music, played the accordion and she graduated from the Hellenic Conservatory. Influenced by the local tradition of her origins, she enrolled at the Department of Popular and Traditional Music at the Epirus Polytechnic, where she specialised in Anthropology of Music and Performance, and she graduated in 2007. At the same time, she has bayan lessons with the accomplished accordion player, Irakli Vavatsika. Currently, she works on Greek music and she participates as an accordionist in several concerts, collaborates with many groups, Greek musicians and composers.
