About Me

Anna Garrott, a small town girl with a big voice, was born and raised in Troy, AL. Anna discovered her love for country music at a very early age. Anna was exposed to her grandmother’s favorite sounds of some of the greatest female artists of our time such as Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynett, and Kitty Wells. “There was something so pure and original in each of their voices that simply captivated me.” The youngest of 11 grandchildren, Anna’s family knew she was born to perform as they gathered to watch her sing using “Big Ma’s” walking cane as a microphone!Anna is no stranger to the stage. She began her musical venture at the tender age of three years old. She grew up singing and dancing anywhere from country fairs to the stages of Opryland and Disney World. While studying for a degree in Marketing at Troy University, she found herself singing in local clubs in the small college town. “I played, sang, and sat-in when ever and where ever I could. I was fortunate to have some extremely talented singer/songwriters take me under their wings.” It was through them and their constant encouragement that she decided to take it Nashville. While sitting in with a band in a local night club, Anna was heard by Nashville producer, Rick Holt. A year later, Rick signed Anna to the newly developed independent label, J & V Records and J & V Artist Management Group, owned by Vicki Carey and Jimmy White, Sr. of Pensacola, Florida. “I am so grateful to everyone at J &V. The label has truly allowed me to develop as an artist. My career wouldn’t have been possible without them.”After moving to Nashville in 2008, Anna has met and worked with several writers and musicians. “The greatest thing about this town is the insurmountable amount of musical talent. You constantly grow as an artist from meeting, playing, and writing with other musicians. I think you take a piece away from each experience, learn from it, and make it your own!” Some of Anna’s other musical influences include that of Emmylou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi, Patty Griffin, and Janis Joplin. Anna and her band have been together and performed all over the country for approximately two years. Since being signed, Anna has opened for some of country’s music’s greatest acts such as Randy Travis, Lady Antebellum, James Otto, Craig Morgan, Joe Nichols, Phil Stacey, Gene Watson, and Jeff Bates.Anna released her debut album entitled “Only Time Will Tell” in April of 2008. The songs are a blend of the old and new musical genres. “I really wanted the music to be a blend of classic country and southern rock. You know, Patsy Cline meets Bonnie Raitt.”The CD is a ten song compellation which is indicative of Anna’s “spit-fire” nature. Songs such as “Trouble Is a Woman” and “Get the Hell Outta’ Dodge” are evidence of her female-empowering attitude. However, others songs such as “Siver Wings” and “Pink Roses” reveal a more vulnerable quality in the southern girl. “I think these are songs that everyone, men and women, can identify with on this record.” This album will hopefully be the first of many more to come!
